Hail All! <D
Apparently there is some bad news in the secret publication, 'Newsrail Express', which is not publicly visible....
Well...Personally, I think the whole idea of "secret" publications stinks worse than my socks ever could...Especially where publications like NewsRail Express (That IMO should clearly be made available to the public) are concerned... <(

After hacking around a bit, I've managed to gain access to the ATOC site provided for travel agents. Although there isn't a seemingly comprehensive list of NewsRail issues on there, it seems that certain people have been trying to keep certain things a little "under the carpet", as it were, and some of those issues are available but not directly linked...:roll:<(

Anyhow. As I detest the idea of such "secret" newsletters, I've decided to remove the existing "block" and make these available to the public through this topic. Here's a list of all known copies of NewsRail Express that are available on that site. 8-)
(Sorry it's in a funny order, but I don't have the time for rearranging these things!)

Just in case ATOC decide to go anal on us, I've also attached issue #363 to this post so that if nothing else, the latest issue will be available to us! 8-)

Farewell, and enjoy thy fresh copies of NewsRail Express...Bought to ye by Death! :D8-)<D

Bad News?

Is this possibly regarding the tightning of restrictions of various types of ticket on Cross Country?

The one thing I will give Virgin credit for is good cross-country ticketing both on the day and advance. Looks like its about to be blown out the water and arrest all weekday travel before about lunchtime.... cheers then very 'customer' focused.....

Well that is something, when we make our millions and repatriate the 7s to the UK, to include in the new operation.

Back to the real world, Arriva can't afford the franchise as it stands at the moment. Hence asking (or rather telling) the ex VT staff to take a pay cut to the levels of ex CT staff and bringing about the threat of strike action on the ex VT routes, increasing ticket prices and reducing cheap ticket availability, cramming more people into the same length unit on these newly increased fares, introducing first class fares on the ex CT side. Oh please bring back Virgin...they weren't perfect, but towards the end of the XC franchise, they were nearing getting it right.
