I'm putting together an itinerary to try to save what's left of a booked holiday (assuming that the travel corridors will still be in place, which may well not be the case), and I have to be in Edinburgh on the evening of the 22nd October returning during the afternoon of the Sunday, 25th October.
I'll be travelling up from Grimsby Town. Just me, and I don't hold a railcard that is any use for this purpose.
Currently looking, there is no confirmed timetable for the Sunday, and there appear to be no advance tickets of any kind on the Thursday, so it looks like it'll have to be the good-old walk-up fares.
Is an end-to-end ticket the cheapest option?
In reality, it's the airport I need. Is Waverley the best destination?
Of course, it might all be utterly academic.
