I've just interrogated the National Rail website to check a fairly simple day return journey on Monday 21/12/15 at 12:42 from Penrhyndeudraeth to Pwllheli returning at 17:42 for 1 Adult & 2 Kids with a Family Railcard.

The correct Anytime Day Return combo of £7.10 is offered with no problems.

A very odd alternative is also offered however.

A £39.05 Family Railcard discounted option of a North West Round Robin ticket, a product that seems to be for a circular trip in the Carlisle/Leeds/Preston area ?

Any ideas ?

I assume that the internal search has confused Cumbrian with Cambrian

It's a bit tenuous, but could the Ffestiniog Round Robin have contributed to the confusion too? That ticket could be valid on that journey (albeit rather under-used).
