Just checking a booking I have for 2nd September, and wondered why it didn't give me my usual 14:51 from WGW to SOP. It appears they have reduced the current two TPH service (albeit not ideally spaced, being ~20 minutes/~40 minutes rather than half hourly), to just one service per hour.

Anyone know if this is a permanent change? It's not ideal as it means I won't make the **45 hourly bus at Southport.

(Edited to correct current situation to TPH, was misleading.)

I suspect it is to do with the closure of Wigan to Bolton line from 31/8/24 to 9/09/24 for the engineering works on the electrification of the line.

Engineering work between Bolton and Wigan, according to National Rail Enquiries. The hourly Oxford Rd - Southport service you are referring to is diverted via Chat Moss.

Back to normal on the 9th September.
