I’ve a Norwich to London terminals advance ticket tomorrow but the itinerary booked is on a train only as far as Stratford with recommended transfer in the tube from there. Can I really not just stay on the train to Liverpool Street?

If your ticket is to London Terminals then you can, but if the itinerary suggests that you need to change at Stratford that may indicate engineering or other factors making the train terminate at Stratford

NR and LUL are inter-available (accept each others tickets) between Stratford and Liverpool Street.

Where does your itinerary take you?

Realistically I can’t see anyone having a problem with this on face value.

I suspect that the ticket is to Stratford because Advance tickets to Liverpool Street were 'sold out' but were still available to Stratford and so it is a far cheaper option. Happens to me frequently with 'near the date of travel' bookings for Norwich - London.

Why the journey planner then chooses the EL rather than G.Anglia for the Stratford-Liverpool St leg, who knows.

I may be wrong, in which case ignore me.

As above providing the destination printed on your ticket says London Terminals (or Liverpool St.) Nobody will will know or care if you remain on board. Only other possibility is if you booked your ticket months ago perhaps Liverpool St. was going to be shut for engineering same as it is 27th December - 1st January ?

Yeah, I think this is most likely

Likely because the GA trains will be reservable, and therefore must have the relevant advance quota even for that short hop, which is unlikely. Tube or EL aren't reservable so are fine.

I suspect it was down to availability of Advance tickets. In the event the tickets worked fine in the Liverpool street barriers.
