Tricky one.

Nottingham - London is definitely not valid via the WCML.

However, because it is a Travelcard, if your journey is Nottingham - Hatch End, Watford Junction passes fares check and gives the route Nottingham - Leicester - Nuneaton (- Coventry) - Rugby - Milton Keynes - Watford Junction as a permitted route. Travel via Nuneaton (but not Coventry) is also within 3 miles of the shortest route between Nottingham and Hatch End.

Are you prepared for an argument?

In fact, NRE will give an itinerary via Tamworth and Nuneaton if you search for Nottingham - Harlesden avoiding West Hampstead Thameslink to go with the Any Permitted Anytime Day Travelcard (£167). This I believe validates the route for any Any Permitted Travelcard product, including Super Off-Peak ones.

An example is the 1110 departure from Nottingham, or the 1210 departure.

..............

Be careful the ticket is not valid on Virgin to Euston. If you say you are travelling to Harrow & Wealdstone make sure you stay on route until you reach Harrow & Wealdstone - remember the route is only valid to a few stations.
You would have to travel to Watford Junction (as you are using that as your routeing point) and then catch a train from Watford Junction that is valid to the destination you are using (whether that be Hatch End, Harlesden, I would personally travel to Harrow & Wealdstone - at least you can use LM instead of LO). Be careful the ticket is not valid on Virgin to Euston.

Yes, of course. If the reasoning is to travel to a certain station then the OP needs to make sure that he actually goes there, at least until he is inside the zones.

Coincidentally the route given by NRE via Tamworth does put the pax on a fast Trent Valley all the way into Euston and back out.
