At Hastings now at 21.40. Just seen at Gatwick Express unit heading for Ore. A booked duty or an odd turn up

I saw a couple of these working diagrams between Brighton and Ore a couple of weeks ago and travelled from Lewes to Eastbourne on one. PIS was saying a Southern service operated by Gatwick Express. Assume it's a reasonably regular occurrence?

Been happening for ages. The 387/2s are used both on Gatwick Express, which has had a service reduction since Covid, and East Coastway services towards Eastbourne and Hastings/Ore.

GX doesn't need them all atm and SN need more trains. So it's worked well!
