Hi everyone,

I wanted to confirm some information about overhead lines because there aren't many here.

1) Are there any operatives/technicians overhead lines?
2) Is there 1500V DC electrification in the uk or just 25kv AC?
3) Is it necessary for me to re-do the trainings since I have experience in this field? If so, what training do I need?
4)Are there any overhead line companies that come to mind (to apply)?

As a foreigner with experience in the railway (qualified). Knowing more about it is important to me so that I can apply.

If you could help me or point me in the right direction, please do so.

Yes - typically employed by Network Rail.

Yes, training will be provided upon successful recruitment to a role.

To add to the point 4 answer above, you will also find OLE jobs with some of the bigger contracting firms, Balfour Beaty etc. Dependent on location TFL also employ power techs for their network.
