I see there is a 2012 discussion on this, now closed. Do any TOCs still use these, as I don't remember seeing one for a while. Greater use of electronic destination screens and short turn-round times at terminals may have already seen them phased out, but perhaps they are still used on routes I rarely visit.

GWR always used them on their HST sets, but the short sets I don't think (?) use them. All stock in my area has electronic displays for showing you where the train's going, so I rarely saw window labels anyway. :)

I have a feeling I've seen one on a ScotRail "classic" HST as these have no PIS at all. Might be wrong though.

A bit of a romantic regarding railways sometimes and I liked these labels. Kind of added something a bit special to journeys. Just like with paper reservations I suppose. Electronic screens make sense nowadays though.

I seem to recall that Northern may use them on S&C trains , but might only be for group reservations for walking groups.

I am led to believe ones still in use are;

LNER Mk4 and HSTs
Scotrail HSTs but only have Destinations rather than intermediate stops

Not sure if GWR HSts on the GTi services have them

But thats your lot these days

You’re missing the Scotrail 156s on the West Highland line and also the GWR 57+Mk3s on the West of England overnights.
