ADVANCE NOTICE PARLIAMENTARY TRAIN SATURDAY 26TH JUNE
We are hoping that Northern Rail/Network Rail will agree to this Saturday morning, one-way, Chester service stopping at Helsby and Frodsham and then continuing, with passengers, to Liverpool South Parkway. The idea then will be to offer visits, via the normal shuttle bus to Liverpool John Lennon Airport and/or shuttle bus to the nearby National Trust property at Speke Hall. Return, by train, from Liverpool South Parkway will be to Acton Bridge where our friends from the Mid Cheshire Line will provide two vintage Crosville buses, (single deckers), to take passengers back to Frodsham, Helsby and Chester.
This all depends upon us receiving confirmation from Northern Rail/Network Rail that the extra stops can be made and that the service can be extended to Liverpool South Parkway. It may be that the service will commence a few minutes earlier than the timetabled 0755 departure from Chester to avoid conflicts on the WCML between Runcorn and Ditton.
We hope to be able to report favourably on this event, during May, so please make a provisional diary note for a good day out on Saturday 26th June.
Numbers will be limited to the capacity of two single deck buses so it would be extremely useful to us to have an idea as to how many would be interested. Please, therefore, email.................
or phone one of the numbers below, if you are interested. Remember the last time we did a similar event, when the Halton Curve was destined for closure, we had 106 passengers, ie more than 2 bus loads.
