How do you become a polar express driver after already becoming a freight train driver. Any information on it at all? Just thinking it would be nice to take kids on and having their parent drive it.

I was looking around tunbridge wells not sure if that’s a preserved railway or not
There's the Spa Valley Railway which is a preserved line at Tunbridge Wells West. Your best bet is to give them a ring/email and ask about driving for them.

I'd suggest the chance of just rocking up and driving the Polar Express is zero. If you're not already volunteering at the railway, they will likely see right through such a request.

Oh no doubt. But if you want to drive for a Preserved line, you'll need to talk to them about how to get involved. Each line is slightly different.

In short, you’d need to spend a few years volunteering in the loco dept at your chosen railway, regularly committed and working your way up from Cleaner.
