Robert A Keene, of Over Farm, in Gloucestershire, was unhappy at Network Rail not repairing fences that backed on to his farm, so he failed his tractor on the crossing and deliberately left it there being "in no hurry" to 'fix' it in retaliation.
The the location appears to be here on the main line between Gloucester and Newport.
NR said the blockage could "potentially put lives at risk", looking at the map it would not have been protected by the signalling until the farmer contacted the signalman, so it was a very risky act for the farmer to do. It has not been made clear from the reports if the farmer recieved permission to cross the line or not.

The farmer can be contacted on 01452 414975 if anyone wishes to claim compensation for delays.
