I travelled to Scarborough over the weekend. The trainshed remains a dismal, unwelcoming space due to the temporary(?) supports wrapped in plasticised mesh and the low temporary(?) “ceiling”.
I think that the mesh may have been renewed but, otherwise, the area looks exactly the same as it has for years.
When I first saw this at Scarborough (seemingly aeons ago), I assumed that works were being undertaken on the roof and/or roof structure.
However, given the lack of change over the years, I presume this isn’t the case. So, are these messy arrangements at the station simply here to stay? Or could Scarborough actually regain the station it deserves?
As an aside, the tarmacked area fronting Valley Bridge Road is currently blocked off with Heras fencing which made me wonder if something could be underway.
Apologies if this is covered elsewhere - I’ve searched but can’t see anything.
