Had a flying visit to Edinburgh at the weekend and noticed (I think) the big signs announcing the border just north of Berwick had disappeared with just the frame work in evidence. Did I get this wrong? And if not what's happened to them - vandalism or repair?

Yes, i also noticed this last week! I trust it has just been taken away for refurbishment or something.
