Location
A typical commuter-belt part of north-west England
Many years ago, I remember reading about the Seghill Railway and of the history of the Cramlington Waggonway and at the time I made a note about the location of Prospect Hill railway station, saying it was opened on 28th August 1841 and was not closed until 27th June 1864. It appears there had been a winding house near to that location.

Can someone on this thread give me any information as to the current land usage of the line that ran south of Prospect Hill railway station to the area of Percy Main.

If the station is where I think it is. It's currently a waggonway, which are railway lines locally they've converted for walking and cycling, until just behind Silverlink where the George Stephenson line takes over until Percy Main. It's also where the Metro test track was.

There's been talk of reopening it over the years and is part of the long term local transport plan.

If you look on Google Maps, the station was directly behind the Enterprise Garage near Shiremoor (not Silverlink that's a different line), I believe, you should be able to see the clear line from there. Joining the Northumberland Line just North from there.

Edit: You can actually go along part of it on Google Streetview as a local cyclist has been adding them lately.
