I have purchased an SNCB/NMBS ‘Unlimited’ ticket, which grants you access to all non-high speed trains in Belgium. I was wondering if you are permitted to use it on NS’ Intercity Direct services within Belgium. The SNCB app seems to think so, but I’m not certain.

I just came back from Belgium this week and I rode the NS ICD from Antwerp to Brussels. I had a standard SNCB/NMBS e-ticket which was valid on the train. Also, before I bought the ticket, the app would show trains on which I can use the ticket, including the NS ICD trains (which run under the 92XX train number iirc).

Great, thanks.

It may be painted in NS colours but it is a joint NS-Belgian Railways service. The branding as "Intercity Direct" within the Netherlands is so that passengers are aware that a supplement is required on the Schiphol to Rotterdam section.

These trains also both have the B symbol in that oval.
Can use any ticket till Noorderkempen-explicitly these tickets are NOT valid till fare/tariff border. As far as Arlon on the line to Luxembourg.
IF you plan to leave/board at airport station then any time the special Diabolo fee of around 6€ has to be paid.
And on that section in NL there is no since a few weeks and for some time to come a temporary speed restriction due to some earthworks from 250 down to 80 km/hr.

The Amsterdam-Brussels trains are as a previous poster mentioned a joint NS-NMBS operation and function as a completely normal Belgian service within Belgium (and as Dutch service within the Netherlands). So all domestic tickets can be used as on any other domestic intercity train.
