What's the deal with this Tube map? I have quite the collection going on, but I had absolutely no knowledge of the existence of this one, up until seeing one on eBay a short while ago (it's at £200 with six days left). Why is it so expensive?

Reading online elsewhere suggests the possibility of a staff only issue, which accounts for the rarity if true.

There's another copy on eBay for £950 too, if you were feeling flush.

There is a separate FOI request online on the TfL site, for which the proof version is downloadable.

It was issued for the press launch of the Overground network. This was an event at Highbury and Islington and I believe it was only given out then.

Does anybody else remember the opening titles of ‘Sykes’ from the 1970s?

Wasn't it a close up of someone playing a brass musical instrument? Although not sure what that's got to do with a special edition of the London Overground tube map.
