According to the ScotRail website, the no peak-time ticket trial applies to the Spirit of Scotland Travelpass; does this apply to TPE, XC, LNER and Avanti services between Glasgow Central, Carlisle, Edinburgh, Berwick-upon-Tweed, Aberdeen and Inverness?

It's my understanding that if you're using split ticketing with a ranger / rover (or season ticket) the train doesn't have to stop at the splitting point; would a Newcastle / Morpeth to Berwick flexible ticket and a SoS pass be valid on Lumo services, even though they don't serve Berwick at all? I'd guess not as the National Rail website doesn't mention it under participating train companies (but also doesn't mention the Sleeper between Edinburgh / Queen Street and Fort William).

On the website it says

So I am assuming that this means you can't use it on peak time trains operated by non scotrail tocs. As for using it on Lumo, since it doesn't say anywhere that you can use it on Lumo, I think we have to assume that you can't

The pass is valid on all the operators mentioned in post #2.

And it is valid at all times of day until the end of March, as mentioned on the ScotRail website.

There will be no issues using it on internal services at any time of day, but you might get some pushback from conductors / train managers / guards* on cross-border services to Carlisle and Berwick.

I think the "on some lines you won't be able to travel at peak times" is the original wording from before the fares trial.

There never were time restrictions on the following routes:
  • Glasgow Queen Street - Oban/Fort William/Mallaig
  • Glasgow Central - Stranraer
  • Inverness - Kyle/Wick/Thurso
  • Direct services from Lockerbie to Carlisle, Carstairs, Motherwell or Glasgow Central

* delete as applicable.

It also says First TransPennine Express - so chances are that was written back when Lumo didn’t exist!

Either way, even if it was valid on Lumo, you’d need a ticket from Berwick-upon-Tweed to (at least) Morpeth to be able to travel on a Lumo service.

And you'd need Lumo to accept those tickets.
