I was reading that there were plans for a London bridge commuter service coming under LO control.
Was wondering what about SWR Reading / Windsor to Waterloo be transferred to TfL / LO?

There is a possibility of some additional capacity being provided at peak times between inner suburban stations between Crystal Palace and New Cross Gate by London Overground running services into London Bridge.

There is more information here but there are pros and cons of this happening - https://www.railforums.co.uk/threads/tfl-considering-overground-extension-to-london-bridge.256671/

The concept is broadly similar to the way that Elizabeth Line run a handful of peak extra trains into Liverpool Street from Gidea Park, rather than running them into the 'Core'.

Any idea that London Overground might become involved in any services at London Waterloo is a massive leap from the concepts noted above. There is no prospect of this happening at the current time.

I don’t think there’s ever been a serious proposal to run LO into Waterloo. All the years TfL have been pushing to take over SE Metro routes they’ve been all but silent about the SWT/SWR routes.

Although published Crossrail 2 plans would have obviously transferred a significant proportion of existing inner suburban services to TfL Rail, they never included the Windsor/Reading side.

There were some earlier proposals which involves taking over SWR up to Hampton Court / Weybridge / Windsor, but not as far as Reading / Woking.
