As screened last night and centred on Kings Cross.
More a social commentary over the last 50 years, plus rail related history.
There were some interesting observations about the inclusion of women, some from drivers about the "buzz" from driving at 100 mph on the mainline (can't dispute that), the progression via links / seniority to the top roles and, one lovely comment from a switched on guard, who, when confronted with "I don't speak English " fare avoiding passengers, dryly commented something about " the fiver on the floor has come from your wallet "....which led to a sudden fluency .
The role of the second man on diesels got a rare mention.
It was a surprise to find the programme, channel hopping and purely by chance, and that it clashed with Fred Dibnah's "Building Britain" series but certainly an entertaining and informative programme
