I have just heard that my Sunday afternoon LNER Edinburgh to London has been the cancelled. The email says to get the earlier or later service. I intend to get the earlier service. I have a Seatfrog first class upgrade for my original booking. Is there anyway I can still travel first class? I imagine my new train will be very busy so being in first class would make things more comfortable. If no first class can I get a reservation on my new train? I can go into Edinburgh station in the morning, so any special suggestions on what I should be asking? Thank you.

As per Seatfrog you should speak to staff on the train:

If you win a Seatfrog upgrade and the train is delayed or cancelled you may still be able to use the upgrade. If your train has been delayed over 60 mins, or cancelled, special arrangements will be made to accommodate you on the rail operators next available service (although a seat can't be guaranteed). Please speak to a member of staff when you travel to see if they can accommodate your upgrade.

Maybe get in contact with LNER and see if they can reserve you a new seat on your alternative train?
