I find this really strange. I have seen that you can book a train journey on Uber now. .

I wouldn't know what is next. A free session with the PM.

To me this just seems like a parody of what someone who grew up in a car dependent area would do getting the train for the first time.

Buy train tickets via the app (presumably they charge a commission) and they give you a % of the value as “cash back” in the form of Uber credits…

Not a terrible idea, but suspect it isn’t likely to work out the cheapest way of buying them…

Not a terrible idea, but suspect it isn’t likely to work out the cheapest way of buying them…

They don't charge commission, and the credits (10% rebate ends on 31 December) can be spent on extra train/coach/Eurostar tickets as desired. In combination with the occasional 15% discounts on e-gift cards sold via Amazon / Tesco it's quite a generous scheme.
