Good morning. First Post.
I haven't travelled by rail since the beginning of the year but have to do so in ten days or so.
I have an Asthma UK face covering exemption on my phone.
Is there anyone on here with face covering exemption who can tell me how things go as I a little nervous.
I am expecting to feel very self conscious as the only one bare faced.

I think it all depends on where you travel. I have only travelled by Public transport in the London area and have not had any problems. Listening to radio phone ins and twitter reports it sounds as if people in the north of England are less accommodating.

Can get a lanyard for hidden disabilities, saw a chap wearing one Saturday. I know it shouldn't be necessary but may be good for you peace on mind. Think you can ask at a station and they'll provide one.

I use the sunflower lanyard and travel on EMR regional services. So far I have not had any issues or been challenged by anyone.

I would say go out and get on with life. Your unlikely torun into problems.

If your worried(you have nothing to worry about in fairness)then get one of the sunflower lanyards, might be worth tweeting the relevant TOC your travelling with(or ask at a manned station).

Not had any problems shopping either

You dont need a lanyard. If an official asks you, just say you are exempt. Dont give any explanation, and he should not ask.
If a member of the public asks you, ignore them. Its nothing to do with them anyway.
We should not have to wear badges displaying our medical condition. That would be just wrong.

did anyone look at your lanyard?

I haven't got anything to add, but good luck, and I hope it goes well for you.

From what I have seen on my few train trips, you absolutely won't be the only one without a mask, so don't worry too much!

Cursory glances
No ticket inspection from Oulton Broad North to Norwich and just a quick look on the other two legs
A lot of students got on at Sleaford and a substantial number there did not have masks on

My experiences travelling on London Overground yesterday were very mixed.
In a late morning journey between Clapham Junction and Willesden Junction, I was the only person within the limits of my vision that was not wearing a covering. The passengers were mostly families and younger people, many of whom got off at Shepherds Bush, presumably to shop in Westfield. Not a word was said to me. I didn’t even see people whispering to each other or giving glances in my direction.
My reverse late-evening journey was similarly about 80% loaded, but this was a very different mix of passengers, it was all working-age people, mostly young-ish 20s 30s. Compliance on this journey was very different, only about 50% wearing a covering. Again, no comments or challenges.
So, if you have a medical exemption, you should not be put off travelling
