Did anybody watch last night's episode of Vera?

It featured the fictional station of Partlington, which is actually the non-fictional station of Stanhope on the Weardale Railway. Coincidentally, Stanhope is the surname of Vera in the series. I wonder if this was intentional.

For those who didn't watch it, a lady in I'd guess her sixties boards a train, that looks to be a Class 141 unit, at Partlington. She is then stabbed to death in her left hip.

A good episode last night, I must admit! What are everyone's views?

as usual with a north east based series, i spent most of the show trying to work out where it was filmed

Same! When I saw the station sign, I thought it said Partington (my mother even said Paddington, at which point I nearly cried of shock!), which is in Greater Manchester! But then I realised it had to be in the north east, due to the thick Geordie accents!

imdb mentions Alnwick as filming location, my initial thought was that Mardle was Alnmouth but I went off that after a while

If I had to take a long journey in a 141, I'd stab myself above the hip!

I didn't see it all, but a good episode nonetheless

Ha! I don't think it was a particularly long journey; I imagine it was probably a journey similar to what some of the 142s do now, i.e. Newcastle to Hexham, Bishop Auckland to Darlington, etc.
