We're off to Wembley on Saturday for the FA Trophy final. Big day for both Darlington and Mansfield. However, it appears that there is a whole heap of mayhem on the London Underground network. As such, I would like some advice.

Initially, I was intending on getting the London Overground from Wembley Central into Euston (and walking to St Pancras for our train back to Sheffield). I am still quite keen to use Wembley Central as we will have a six year old in tow, and I expect it to be much quieter than Wembley Park/Stadium.

As such, would it be better to head North to Harrow & Wealdstone, and then head into Euston on a London Midland (where there is a 30 minute service I understand), or to use the Bakerloo to Oxford Circus and then take the Victoria to St Pancras?

There is of course the option of using Wembley Park, but with the changing onto a restricted Hammersmith and City service, I am concerned about the wee one's safety.

Thanks in advance

Are you arriving into St Pancras?

A) Walk to Baker Street (1.7 miles) and catch a Metropolitan train to Wembley Park

B) i) Piccadilly Line to Green Park and Jubilee line to Baker Street
ii) As above but change from Jubilee to Metropolitan at Baker Street (Met trains are faster)

C) Replacement bus service (bakerloo) from Harrow and Wealdstone to Wembley Central

The best option is to get the Hammersmith and City to Baker Street and the Met from there to Wembley Park.

The walk from Wembley Central to the stadium is quite long! Not sure what the advice about replacement buses comes from; Bakerloo and Overground are running normally on Sat (but not to Euston) so you can walk to Euston and get LM every 30 Min and change at Harrow for Underground or Overground.

Don't know what time your little football match ends, but LM are running SB until mid afternoon.

Options are the Bakerloo line to Paddington, then changing there for the Hammersmith and City line (this may get busy as there's no Circle or Met lines from Baker St), from Wembley Ctl, i believe this would be the easiest way.

Chiltern Railway http://www.chilternrailways.co.uk/routes-and-destinations/getting-to-wembley-stadium from Marlybone which use Wembley Stadium station, & some special shuttle services are operating, the 205 bus operates from St Pancaras to Marlybone, or Tube to Baker Street & a short walk
--- old post above --- --- new post below ---
Or an easier connection to Marylebone, catch the Victoria line from Kings Cross/St Pancaras to Oxford Circus then the Bakerloo line to Marylebone

If you decide to use Marylebone then get the tube to Baker Street and walk to Marylebone. Baker Street station is 500 yards at the most from Marylebone.

There's no direct Tube service to Baker Street from St Pancaras this Weekend due to engineering works, so the op would either change at Oxford Circus using the Victoria & Bakerloo lines or get the 205 bus which goes direct from St Pancaras to Marylebone.

H&C is running between Hammersmith and Kings Cross St Pancras.

The Hammersmith is running a restricted service apparently, and I don't fancy the crowd on the platform with a six year old. Hence why I was keen to use Wembley Central.

Think it'll have to be Met from Wembley Park, and then the 205. We should have plenty of time. Interestingly, it says it takes 26 mins on the bus from Baker St to St Pancras. If it wasn't for the wee one, I ciould walk it in that time!!!

There are also early morning engineering wworks between Leagrave and Bedford which might delay you on EMT. (Thameslink is a bus replacement)

You could get the train from marlebone but that is to Wembley Park. It looks like your best bet is Bakerloo to Queens Park.

So i would get the Victoria from St Pancras to Oxford Circus and the Bakerloo from there to QUeens Park and the LO from there to Wembley!

Looks like i will be doing a similar trip from MK - COME ON DARLO!!!!!!!! Black & White Army!

We're not due into St Pancras until 11.30, and I've been assured by EMT that there are no planned alterations to our train journey.

I'm getting rather nervous now. Lets hope that it's 3rd time lucky.

H'way the lads!

Are you on the 0927 from Sheffield?

Yes good luck. Winning a trophy will be a small consolation for dropping out of the league. Could be the kick start for your revival.
