1330 FSR Edin-Aberdeen will be 170 or 158. 1340 is EC HST
Aberdeen- Inverness is mostlikely to be a 158 but a 170 may be used on occasion.
Glasgow- Paisley return most likely 334 or 318.

There are lots of relatively early finishes and late starts. Is that deliberate? You could get a good many local lines in if you tried. Assume Inverness-Paddington is a Caledonian Sleeper plus tube journey?

I don't think that's his full itinerary, just the bits he's unsure about

Thanks for the Help so far.

No - thats not my full itinerary, it's just what I want to know the traction.

The nearly finished itinerary will appear in my ALR thread on Weds after I have been told of any Engineering Works when doing some of my seat res's on Tues.

The main reason I ask for the traction is so I can choose a Seat Preference from my seating plans gratefully received from 'rail-britain' via his website.

Not sure if the class 380s will be in service in Oct who knows? You could throw a 314 to Paisley Gilmour st if its a Wemyss bay or Gourock train .

Newport S.W. to Bristol PW 1139 This is usally a ATW Cl 158 but it coulld be (less likely) a Cl 150 again a ATW trains service. however it is a while since i have taken this train.
Also the Bristol PW to Manchester Pic. 1210 should be a XC Cl 221
the London St P Int to Sheffield 1755 shouuuuld definitly be a Cl 222 or a Cl 43:?:
Birmingham New Street to Tame Bridge PW 0839 should be a Cl 323 or a Cl 170+153

I hope this isnt too late as i dont usally check the forum for a while then i try too help sorry if this is too late :D

Are you sure this is an ATW service? I can't think of any Arriva trains that run to Bristol Parkway...

Nothing is too late - the booking office clerk (at [stn]LST[/stn] couldn't for some reason issue the ALR's saying that the dates are not available, don't know how true this is!

No ATW services run into Bristol Parkway.

The only service booked to arrive from South Wales around 1139 would be booked into Bristol Parkway at 1130, the 1055 Cardiff Central to London Paddington (1109 from Newport).

Which allows you to then get the 1140 from Bristol Parkway rather than waiting 40 minutes for the 1200 Bristol Temple Meads to Manchester Piccadilly (1210 from Bristol Parkway). I wouldn't swear to it being either 220 or 221, both classes work the Bristol to Manchester services and indeed any other XC work.

I reckon you'll be lucky to get a 380 on the Paiseley moves, but if your ALR isn't until the autumn then you might be in luck. Although I'd be hoping for a 314 or other ScR EMU before it's all change up there.

It might be a 380 as they are due to enter service in September on Ayrshire and inverclyde duties

This is true. Hadn't really noticed when the OP said his ALR was starting when I first read the post, I was more interested in seeing if everything had been covered. Which is when I read the thing about ATW at Bristol Parkway, so felt compelled to reply.
