Just curious does anyone know where can you get post sent to if you don't want it sent to your house?

One of my mates was asking me if i knew anything about this yesterday but i have never heard of any service like this. He has some problems with his neighbours (it's a house split in to flats where all the post is accessible to all residents) and doesn't trust getting important letters sent to his address. So he wanted somewhere else that certain post can be sent.

He said it would just be for a few important letters that he would like another address somewhere local where he could ask the sender to send it to. So he is not looking to get all his post redirected.

Has anyone heard of anything like this? Can you get your post sent to somewhere like a local post office or a convenience shop or a library or somewhere like that? Is such a service available anywhere?

Many thanks.

Many thanks. I will suggest that to him. That sounds like a good option. Although at £267.00 per year it does seem rather expensive.

The simple answer is "any address that will accept it". Does he have friends or family who he trusts?

If wanting a paid service, there isn't just the Royal Mail - "Mail Boxes Etc" are fairly common in London and offer that service too. Or you might be able to get an independent shop owner to agree it, though in my experience with parcels trust might be an issue.

That's fine for things like Amazon deliveries (other online retailers are available) but not for things like letters from, for example the Department for Work and Pensions. Using a different address would possibly attract suspicion in cases such as that.

There used to be Doddle where you had the address of the shop and you could use it to fill in that bit in retailers website . But they changed to only doing it when there option appears on popular websites such as ASOs etc.

There is DPD but only way it worked was the website i ordered from used them and only when the parcel was in transit i could select on app to a shop .

Amazon lockers for stuff on amazon and not everything too . Kinda wish that you could send stuff from other websites to amazon locker s.

So there is not just one for all .

Google "accommodation address" and you will find a large selection of services.

Expensive compared to what? £22.25 a month seems like a bargain for what some would call an important service like that. I bet you'd spend more on your other services a month than that - or if you smoked it's 3-4 packets of fags a month
