Probbly be another though, the 'last ever' is a ploy to up the viewing figures.

Have to say, haven't watched it at all :(

I think it will be the last episode but there is a spinoff series being made about Gene Hunt.

Was a pretty good end....but not enough emphasis on the 47...which was indeed 47402. Headcode was about right at 2L02?, however noted the formation was two Mark 1 Maroons (I'd of thought they'd be Blue Grey by 1973?) and two Dogfish wagons and bauxite brake...at least it seemed. I was very delighted to see since it was 1973 they had a working headcode box diesel.

Was indeed 47402 - will find out when it was filmed.

It all kicked off on the Bury side of Brooksbottom tunnel, just outside Summerseat. That signal which the train stopped at doesn't exist in real life, and must have been placed there for the show especially, to allow for the tunnel scene.

Nice little earner for us there I assume! :)

was definatly 402 and as soon as i saw bury-bolton street station i was like, ELR!!, i was hoping 40145 had been filmed for it though, with it being in manchester and all. But oh well... never get everything you want.
Would have been a hellfire departure as well if i know the lancs well enough :P

I think it will be the last episode but there is a spinoff series being made about Gene Hunt.

They are doing a spin-off series, called "Ashes to Ashes" (note the Bowie theme), that will feature Gene Hunt, but he has been transferred from GMP to the Met, and he will be sidekicked by a woman called "Alex", according to the Evening Standard.
