WMR Class 172

Do West Midlands Railways' Class 172s have first class onboard? I am thinking of riding on them between Worcester Foregate Street and Hereford.

If yes, is the extra price worth the experience?

No, all standard class.

Ahh that's a shame then. My plan is to get the train from Oxford to Hereford, and I've managed to find a really cheap Advance single first class ticket for the journey I'm making. As the journey isn't a direct one, I will be required to change at Worcester Foregate Street.

Looks like I will only be able to travel in first class on GWR's IETs then

The 172s are far from a first class experience on the Hereford line imo

You would probably get a 196 now almost all of the 170s are gone - although a 172 can turn up as well, none have first class. The FISA lean seat on the 196s are very nice.

If it's a Hereford train then it won't be a 196 yet as those are only on Shrewsbury services at the moment (and I believe even when they get introduced on the Worcester line it will be the peak time only Worcester shorts at the start).

As @Kite159 said, it's all 170's and 172's, though there will be 196's working a peak time diagram to Hereford from May timetable change (for the OP's sake, no 196's don't have FC)

The peak diagram starts on the 3rd of April if you'd read above, full diagrams probably towards the end of April.

Hopefully 2 diagrams by the end of April I would of thought. Especially if the 170s are going for May.

Yes but only as far as Great Malvern, I would check the thread 'class 196 build and implementation' for further information.
