Hardly a surprise after binning off anyone who wanted to relocate the first time around.

I’ve got an interview from the first round but slightly concerned that they’ve only got one route and traction. Wonder if there’s any expansion plans ?
Doubt it - that's been the same for as long as I can remember

And good luck fella

I saw these jobs get reposted last Friday and sent the recruitment team an email. I asked why they don’t accept relocation as it appeared to me they were struggling to fill these vacancies. I see from TamedShrew’s post that they did indeed find someone locally first time round.
I am still totally bewildered why they have the pre application 45 minute commute rule though. I have explained to them in depth how much preparation I’ve made to move house but I can’t do anything without a job offer.
Good luck with your interview @TamedShrew, which TOC / FOC are you moving from?

Did they give you an answer regards relocation?

Just a very quick, blunt response quite frankly. I did ask them for the head of recruitment’s email address so I could get some answers. This was supplied to me but I think I’m at the stage now where I don’t want to deal with this company any more.

It seems very odd, especially for qualified drivers. No one is going to move BEFORE an unconditional offer is made.

And evidently, they didn't get enough applications the first time around at either location!

Tried to reapply and the screening questions page refused to allow me to submit as it recognised my email address as "already applied"

I just hope this isn't some kind of apprenticeship fund recuperation scam. It crossed my mind that the government may require TOCs to advertise a certain amount of Qualified roles first to fill positions. Then if they 'don't have enough suitable applicants' they can hire more apprentices and collect the funding.
This would set a dangerous precedent for anyone wanting to move companies.

Got to be that then. Or perhaps it was a speculative offer in the hope that people would jump from TFW. Which probably wouldn't happen now with pay difference.

Also, why haven’t they included ‘must live within 45 minutes of the depot’ on their latest advert?! Especially after they’ve been getting applications on the first round of vacancies from people who live further.

My husband wanted to relocate to so we could be nearer my family. They should make it clear that they don't accept applications from people that want to relocate. Otherwise, it's a complete waste of someone's time applying.

It's very unusual not to accept relocations from qualified drivers

Exactly. My husband has over 5 years experience and an exemplary record. So we were confused also as to why he didn't get to the interview stage if they were struggling to get enough applicants. I really hope that it isn't a scam to then advertise for appentices

Yes, they shouldn't allow you to continue the application if that is the case. Something does not add up
