...Customer recovery on many routes is as much as 110% compared to 2019 where we have encouraged people back to bus – and new users too – but on Cityzap it has been as low as 50% in recent months. As you can imagine, this trend can’t continue and is unsustainable to manage.

“This all means – sadly – that Cityzap will no longer run after 19 November.

“The SkyClass fleet will begin to disappear from Cityzap after 25 September to prepare them for use elsewhere....
Sad news, but seeing how empty the buses have been lately I am not surprised.

While train travel between York and Leeds is very costly, the CityZap fares were not that much cheaper than the Northern Only fare, which is the alternative option for people on a budget.

I have a feeling CityZap was enjoying good times when TPE was suffering very bad times. It has a reliability problem at the moment, but with the high frequency of service on that section it's not that bad I guess.

Now TPE are running proper-length trains rather than 3-car for everything the journey by rail is not the unpleasant experience it was.

This is well documented and discussed already under Transdev. Do we need a separate posting?
Indeed, there has been some discussion in this thread:
