Initially Birmingham however on interview they said with where I live I could go to Crewe as well. I confirmed I would be happy at either depot!

Mine is 3 months but my work have said they can be flexible and support me if I need it (in a good way and not trying to get rid of me! lol).

Has anyone heard back if attended the Assessment Day on 3rd Oct?? I have heard back from the OPC to confirm I passed the Vienna and MMI but just waiting to hear from Freightliner themselves. I have never checked my emails so much!! lol
Congrats on passing the tests and good luck for the DMI results!

I work in a small department and am not involved in the movement of trains at all so not really needed as it were, therefore I think my bid will be flexible too. (I have a good relationship with him so I’m confident of that). Fingers crossed I’ll need to give notice soon haha.

Thanks! I think the DMI went well but you never know and allot of the time depends what they are looking for?

Good luck to you and hope you are able to hand your notice soon enough!! lol

Forgive my ignorance but I always thought that the work notice went from when you are paid? I get paid weekly so I'm assuming mine is 1 week notice. I haven't heard of 12 week notice before, that's quite a length!

Hi Diff, It will depend on your employer and their employment contract with yourself. My standard notice period is 3 months but it varies from what role you are in. As I have been open with my boss and kept them updated, they are happy to be flexible.

I went for my stage 2 on Monday and was asked to stay at the end, a DM then asked me if I could do a medical Tuesday as with having a 2 weeks notice period if all good I could start on the 26th of November, I couldn’t do Tuesday but have been given another date for the 19th of this month, I haven’t received any info about it as yet, has anyone else had there info for medical?

Congrats Mgv1349 well done!

Where did you apply for? I received an email yesterday confirming that I have passed the DMI and have been put in a pool until the next vacancy.

Thank you!

I applied for the Crewe depot, when did you go for your DMI interview? And where did you apply for?

Interview was in Crewe. Initially it was BHM however where I live they put me down for either. Hopefully I will be on the next one! (fingers crossed)

That is good then! When I spoke to DM they said that they were prioritising the depots that needed the staff and that would be Crewe and Birmingham so could be soon! I know there is one in November and then One early next year for Crewe! Good luck!

Ahhh good to know. I will just keep checking my emails!

All the best with your training.

Well that's Stage 2 over with!! I passed all the computer tests and the MMI, which I couldn't quite believe... now I just have to pray about passing the DMI!

Super relaxed day, all things considered, they do their best to put you at ease, SUCH a relief it's over though!!!

Which bit are you nervous about? It is really relaxed don’t worry! Mmi just show you can communicate well and use key words that relate to the questions.

I applied for Crewe. As for advice... don’t do what I did and rest your fingers on the green button for the vigilance test, twice I accidentally pressed the bloody thing when the square hadn’t changed!!! Was convinced I’d failed it!

The MMI mainly. I can sort of do interviews okay, but the MMI just seems brutal haha. I’ve prepared, but don’t want to over prepare and over analyse it all. I’m glad it’s relaxed as that will no doubt make it less nerve wracking.

Cool. I don’t have to do the computer tests apparently as I still have valid results, so justvthe interviews for me.

Oh nice, lucky you!! :)

MMI was pretty probing but more relaxed that I was expecting - it felt like the guy wanted me to do well, if that makes any sense. I guess one of my answers wasn't quite what he was looking for as for one question he asked me a second "hypothetical" scenario, which must have done the trick :)

Yeah it is probing I wouldn’t say brutal, the lady I had was really nice and smiling they don’t want you to fail, just don’t make up a scenario use a true example, I was asked ‘why’ 7 times for one answer I gave so they do push hahaa
