Are you referring to the Arriva Traincare facility (the site on your right as you head north into Crewe) as I went past and didn't see a 68 there today?

That’s the place. There was a Trans Pennine one on the line furthest from the mainline at 16:30

Now you've said that, I think I do recall seeing one parked up (would have been a similar time so we may have been on the same train) as far away as could be and because of that I just dismissed it. I cant help unfortunately but hopefully someone can

That train (real headcode 4L90) was worked by 66415 yesterday - so not Colas livery,
but definitely not 'traditional' Freightliner colours either, as it looks like this:
