Actually, I was a bit careless with my angles. The Transporter Bridge is visible, in the distance, from the new car park just beyond platform 1, where were took my first photograph.

In fact, part of the bridge is still visible just behind the 68 in my first image, If you look closely. It will be much easier when the pacer isn't there.

With the ‘New Order’ approaching, ‘True Faith’ seems common amongst some.

Whilst the ‘Temptation’ of the ‘Sub-Culture’ of Facebook is clear, and I hope everyone has a ‘Fine Time’, I just hope some don’t ‘Regret’ and watch in ‘Shellshock’ as they watch the ‘New Dawn Fade’;)

Railway stations at 06:00 can be miserable places when the train you were expecting doesn’t turn up...

The 5E31/5P68 workings the other week took us all by surprise, seemingly insiders included!

All that said, I’ll be checking Real Time Trains/Traksy. As always, I don’t work for the railway and have zero inside info, but I do have memories of leaping for Class 50s that turned out to be 47s!

I prefer Blue Monday ;) (which incidentally I think may be the writer of the jingle for Channel 5’s Milkshake’s favourite too)

ECS’ to and from Longsight vice Ardwick.

Looks like an opening ‘Ceremony’:)

Regarding Saturday, maybe ‘Ride on Time’ or a switch to ‘Fools Gold’, followed by ‘Don’t look back in anger’ spring to mind;)

Enough songs, for now;) The turn you quote ceases to be ‘vice’ on 9th September, fingers crossed for a fixed diagram (or two!) from that date:)

Just hope those going for the Monday runs don't turn out Blue.

Are there now any technical issues restricting the introduction of this fleet, or have they all been ironed out?

I suppose there will always be some issues needing ironing out when bringing in new trains, but I wonder if any major issues remain.

Surely there aren't enough sets for this to happen, so more would need to be ordered. Is there any contractual provision for a follow up order to do this?

It seems to suggest that some of the 22 'spare' 185s will be kept for North TransPennine to release Mk5s for Liv - Not. Makes some sense as once electrification gets underway the 185s can be replaced by more bi-modes.

If you are right then I hope DRS have fixed the ETH...
A Manchester-Eccles then ecs to Longsight wouldn’t be much fun;)

I feel like I have a theory as to why trains are taking so long to test/introduce...

Apparently one of the issues in regards to budgets/delays with the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter was that the planes were being produced at scale before really being fully tested, leading to them having to go back and make costly/difficult/time consuming changes to large numbers of planes rather than adjuating one prototype before going into production...

I wonder whether the same concept applies to new fleets, especially this one as it was needed in service quickly, that they started producing the full fleet before ironing out the kinks in a prototype before producing sets that were less likely to have issues?
Especially in regards to DVTs as they have to interface with another locomotive!

For those claiming ‘you won’t hear the loco from the train’, I’d recommend you have a hearing test;) I’m partially deaf even I could hear 27 away from Vic!

IMG_1399.JPG The PIS is an hour forward, but otherwise it's the sort of ride you would expect from LCHS. Seats are firm, yet comfy so far. Just at Lea Green

The diagram appears to have stopped reporting after Earlestown. It's showing as 'delayed' at Manchester Victoria, with no further info. Has something unexpected happened?

Update: signalling issues, it seems.

Just started moving now, 16.5 late. A lot of trains have been delayed around there for some reason.
