I'm on the hunt for interior photos for the GWT HSTs from the early days before Dynamic Lines. I've found a photo of a Mark 2 with green seats, but in Train Simulator is an interior with the First Capital Connect first class colour scheme. Can somebody provide photos of the standard and first class interiors from the old GWT/Barbie days?

There are some from the early 2000s of Great Western (First Great Western) HST trailers on the railfaneurope picture gallery:

The captions state they are unchanged since 1997/8: http://www.railfaneurope.net/pix/gb/diesel/HST/GW/interior/pix.html

Ah, childhood nostalgia. Even then I thought the interiors were incredibly dull. Probably because a 2hr journey from London to Cardiff as a five year old felt like an eternity.

Remember the netting behind the standard class seats.

I can remember pre-Mallard Mk4s which I liked, but not HSTs from that era. The photos do make them seem a bit dated, but no way as garish as the original BR orange in first!

No pictures but the seats were dark green and had antimasscars. Had the standard low-backed seats and the same
mix of tables and airline seats as originally fitted.

Slightly OT, but do I remember rightly that these trains still had “Intercity” branding with their Great Western Trains livery?

Indeed they did initially, at the left hand end of each mark 3 vehicle, though this was superseded by "Great Western" insignia at both ends of the carriage on later repaints.

I always thought they looked more comfy than modern slimline ones!
They were slightly more comfy as armrests but only once you'd actually got past them to sit down! They were large but also fixed - no way to fold them away. They were almost impossible for me with my mobility problems to get into or out of without hitting them, especially at table seats which there seemed to be more of then.

Fair enough, I can understand that when they are immovable - my preference was based on modern slimline armrests often either being to thin to comfortably balance one's arm on or digging in, with the chunkier ones they are more comfortable I find.
