. I was on a 755 yesterday that either matched or beat the Stowmarket to Ipswich Class 86 record of 8 min 54sec - on.leccy of course..and courtesy of clear sigs into P1. Makes a change not to be stopped outside Ipswich waiting for a platform!

No lack of interest. Just that most people are not travelling by train..so much less to report. And of course they do seem to have settled down well - as we hopes they would.
Perhaps the 755/4's are running on 3 engines, 'cos that's enough power to keep the to the schedules? ISTR some comments re. the TMS could/would select which engine to shut down, based on evening out the engine hours.
There where several doing this. Been told it should improve after their next software update.
That might be the unit that tempted a letter to yesterday's EDP when a Wroxham resident said the 'new trains sound like an aircraft taking off' ?

Fair enough complaining a few months back but anyone doing so just now would IMO be justified to be getting told by GA that right now we're trying to hold our s**t together just like the rest of the country not sort out a noisey train!
No, it's just in the letters page.
The poor sod is probably stuck at home now hearing that train drone past every few hours. A bit of loss of perspective is understandable. GA could defend itself by pleading reduced capacity and most will understand but a fix would be even better.
If you choose to live next to a railway line or an airport, you must expect noise.
