Was a little before that. Anglia had started using 90s then NX launched as 'one'in 2004 and hastily got clearance for DVTs to be used on the 2004 launch day. Mk3 catering vehicles where in use with BR on the route in the early 90s.When did the 90s and Mk3s begin on the GEML? 2005?
Didn’t Anglia hire in 2 or 3 90s from Freightliner for a period prior to NX taking over? Was a little before that. Yes & EWS examples too. Was a colourful time.Didn’t Anglia hire in 2 or 3 90s from Freightliner for a period prior to NX taking over?
90s had appeared on the GE sporadically over the years but the first diagrammed use was on 12 August 2002 when 90042 worked the 0505 Norwich to Liverpool St. The loco stayed on diagram for the rest of the day, finishing on the 1700 Liverpool St to Norwich.Yes & EWS examples too. All except 90014 which is it Crewe I believe.Ah, yes. EWS, ScotRail Barbie, RES, the GNER one plus 90036 with the yellow roof made quite a variety at the time.
Are the ones destined for Freightliner still at Crown Point ?
Some are here. Not sure what's happened to them all.Ah, yes. EWS, ScotRail Barbie, RES, the GNER one plus 90036 with the yellow roof made quite a variety at the time.

Looks like I missed out big-time.90048/90049/90050.
Likewise. I never did have 90050....Looks like I missed out big-time.
Interesting ; seems a long way round !There’s a path in tomorrow for 10:16 Mid-Norfolk Railway Sidings to Leicester LIP tomorrow - something else on the move?

Should be 37608. Not sure on the DVTUsed my daily exercise to go have a look - ROG 37 pulling a single DVT.

This weekend's engineering work on the MML includes a posession of the line between Market Harborough (exc.) & Bedford (exc.) on Saturday; this is extended to Luton (exc.) on Sunday. No trains to Corby either. Could this be the weekend the Up Fast through Bedford gets wired, and the line goes live? (I appreciate the second point's a bit unlikely!)
Leicester LIP is often accessed by a reversal just south of the station, no issues with approaching from the north.GEML blocked between Shenfield and Stratford - so no access to NLL. WAML blocked between Coppermill Jn and Stratford due to emergency engineering works so no access to NLL that way and its mentioned in the final quote above that the MML is blocked Bedford to Market Harborough. I also seem to remember that the Leicester LIP faces south so the only available route seems to be Norwich to Hitchin, ECML, NLL, WCML, then via Nuneaton and South Wigston.

Seems a bit odd that they didn't path it Crown Point, Ely, Peterbroough, Leicester then reverse.
Route clearance for DVTs would seem an equally plausible reason. They aren't cleared everywhere a "standard" Mark 3 is.Only theory would be if they wanted the DVT in a particular orientation for some reason.
A fellow ex colleague commenting on this move states DVT out of gauge via Harlow and possibly between Ketton and Melton Mowbray so even without the engineering blocks may still have to go via a devious route. Many thanks. A time-tablers nightmare.
Does anyone have the eight exGA Mk3s going to Chiltern? At the moment I have 12115.
Could have reversed it via Syston / Trent Triangles but see belowOnly theory would be if they wanted the DVT in a particular orientation for some reason.
