True. As I said, some think that it will be ready in 12-18 months (Basically a year from now), others think around September or something like that. They just seem to have different opinions too like we all do as normal humans.

Anyone serious claiming to have a vaccine ready for widespread use this year will be cutting all manner of corners and I certainly would be avoiding it!

I've seen reports that preparations are being made for mass production of the Oxford vaccine as soon as (and maybe even before) it is shown to be effective. Something called "Operation Warp Speed" seems to be doing the same in the US, although that may be just a figment of Trump's "warped" imagination. The risk of having to bin a few million doses if it turns out not to work is probably worth the reward of getting the economy back up and running earlier than otherwise.

Indeed. At the very least, it's an economic stimulus.

Whereas I'm struggling to be scared of catching it at all, I'm more driven by the fact that I would be mortified if I found I had given it to someone else, particularly if it became a serious case. It's a bit like my approach to driving in a way. Or indeed outdoor climbing, where, for example, I have been known not to wear a helmet when climbing myself if I was getting too hot (though I've now got a nice ventilated one) but I would always wear one when belaying someone else as it's about them, not me.

But would you be mortified if you gave them infuenza ? you stand just as much chance of passing away with 'the flu' too, if you have the 'underlying health issues', and many ilnesses do not have a vaccine, even the flu jab is only partial.

I would consider that if I had flu I should stay at home to avoid spreading it, yes.

I've had it twice, and neither time did I have any desire to leave the house anyway! If you think you've got "the flu" and you've got the energy to be going shopping, what you've actually got is a bad cold.
