That looks in fairly smart condition too, not bad for a 15 year old vehicle!

When were these announced for Kernow? I thought the main supply of Wright bodied vehicles were the Gemini's and the 2 ex Berkshire Solars?

Seems like this one came "under the radar" and was a vehicle none of us knew was coming until a day or two. I must admit I wasn't expecting any singles to arrive.

Can anyone advise of the identity of the second Cornwall College repaint that emerged early last week?

One of the Optare Solo SRs finally got some work today with 53861 on the 24.

Also there were two closed double deckers (32691 and 32549) on the A1/A2/A3 circuit today which is quite disappointing given that in the past few weeks FK have managed to run the A1/A2/A3 with open toppers most of the time.

Yes, saw that Solo in St Austell mid morning.

That bus looks pretty packed. I wonder if it would be viable to operate double deckers on the 24 in busy periods, for example this weekend (August bank holiday)?

2 low bridges, an overhanging building in tywardreath and can’t turn anything longer than 9m at fowey safe harbour

I see on the kernow website that the truro - penwith college routes are now listed on there website with kernow operating 30 routes on the 200 series with also the return of the u3 and t3 - they have said that if you are from truro college you can only use the t3 to go into truro and not other buses on the same but of route e.g. t1 and 87

Because we need them both!
I suppose there is more then those two tridents returning.
I see there isn't any doubke deckers parked in helston at the moment and with college and secondary buses returning from the 3rd will kernow be running the buses from this outstanding or will they travel e.g. from Camborne to pick kids up from lizard

Interesting, so potentially 4 Scania / Solars in the fleet next then. They'll be kicking themselves for letting the Kernow liveried ex Reading vehicles go to Somerset shortly!

Indeed. I am a little surprised, but I have a liking for these so I'm also pleased Kernow has picked some of them up again.

Looking at Flickr, I'm surprised they are taking what is in effect an elderly 52 plate. I have a feeling Ensign have sold some ex First Group Solar's that are newer than that of late.

Lots of elderly vehicles, that were due disposal, are moving between subsidiaries at the moment for COVID schools extras. I’m sure it’s a case of they’ll take what they can get that fits the bill!

Very much so! Pvr rising from 63 to 170! At least Kernow are taking the approach of sourcing any vehicle they can get their hands on rather than cancel peak public services in the manner TfC have gone for to meet contract needs!

On services which are financially supported by LAs, such decisions won’t be made by the bus operator, but by the local authority.

I think a lot of the elderly vehicles are to mostly help out on school and college routes until the MMCs return around December.

Looks like another repainted Gemini in Camborne, a green and white one. No idea which one yet, however it is either one of the 326xx or 370xx batch.

There is a scenario that no one has pondered yet...

What if CC refused to use DfE monies to fund closed school contract duplicates for school flows on Kernow commercial routes and instead asked Kernow to close the journeys to the public ... but Kernow refused to do so because it would remove peak time travel opportunities for the public ... and have been forced instead to have to operate public duplicates and claim the cost back from CBSSGR2 instead.

This is Cornwall Council we are talking about!

It's been reported in the last few days on the Hampshire & Dorset Forum that Volvo B7TL 37165 has left Empress Rd at Southampton after being there for many weeks. It's unclear where it currently is however it is or was due for transfer to Cornwall.

It's quite incredible the number of vehicles that are being drafted in or resuscitated for a return to service. The return of various Tridents from Dan Shears is quite something as are the return of training buses 30878-80. At least they're cosmetically better than the purple ones that have been sent south.

However, never thought that Eclipses from Manchester would reappear nor Solars arrive from Yorkshire.

Strange days and interesting though, of course, we'd wish in a heartbeat that none of it was required.
