Thanks very much

I thought I knew Larkin, just guessed, did not really think it could be him. I obviously need to delve some more into his exploits
..
Please arrange these countries/regions in order of population density, highest first (inhabitants per square km)

Eire (the Republic)
Norway
Bangladesh
Macau
Powys

My guess is:

Macau; Bangladesh; Republic of Ireland; Norway; Powys -- am very unsure about the last three...

Macau, Bangladesh, Republic of Ireland, Powys, Norway?

P.S. Wonder if anyone will get four out of five right on this one? ;)

Continuing the population related quiz theme, in which year was it generally considered that the world total population was last under one billion (1,000,000,000)? :?:

Is this is one of those milestone dates? 1800.
That's very close, so I think I'll let you have a gimme on this.

Wikipedia gives 1804 as the year when the 1,000,000,000 world population figure was first reached, so 1803 would have been the last year when the figure was below that.

Obviously, such calculations can only be, at best, guesstimates.

Over to you @Jimbob52 :)

Thank you. Staying on the theme of population:

It is forecast that at the end of the century the largest city in the world will have a population of 88 million; the second largest a population of 83 million; and the third, 73 million.

Can you name these cities, in the correct order?

Mexico City, Dhaka, Beijing?

One does not know what to think, there is talk of population declining quite soon. Maybe only in certain regions, not the total world population

Kinshasa and Lagos are correct - though the other way round. Lagos is expected to be the largest city in the world.

Delhi is not forecast to be number 3. That title goes to another African city.

Dar Es Salaam?

So... seeming it’s a running theme I’ll also go population themed question yet again.

In the USA how many state capitals are not the state’s largest city (by population)?
