I applied for

Signaller Grade 4 - 8 Rugby, Marston Vale & Wembley

First of all, well done for getting that far. I applied to this one too but didn't get offered an interview.

There is lots of information in this thread about what to expect in the interview, that is repeated every few pages or so. As for the scenario assessment, this will normally have to be completed at your leisure some time before the interview date. There should be a pdf brief attached to your interview invite email(?).

I had a small amount of feedback with the option to request more which I have done. It was very positive but sooo close it seems!
For a first application I'll take it!
Nothing on mine‍♂️ I recieved what looks like a generic template, I did request feedback tho.

Hi, yea hotel all booked, train tickets all ready, so definitely starting on the 14th Nov, I’d give your LOM a call, see what’s going on !!

Interested to know, do those applying for signalling roles on here go for a mix of locations not necessarily local with the view to relocate and after a number of years maybe look to move internally back if they feel like it/it's an option?

I starting applying everywhere, as there weren’t many opportunities near me, ended up getting a position about 50 minutes away, but would have taken anything offered to get in

I'm based in the Midlands but I've applied for positions the length and breadth of the UK. Everywhere between northern Scotland and Cornwall. As Woody says, location ain't an issue when you so furiously want IN.

Ah man, I wish I were joining you! I wish you all the best.

Yes they do. It’s extremely annoying for those of us who have to spend time training a person who ups and leaves. Or they take the spot of another person who would of worked here long term and they use our budget up.

All that said. Signalling can be life changing for most. Especially in the current climate, so give yourself as many options as you possibly can at getting your foot through the door.

Part of the terms of the pay offer currently on offer (and not accepted, hence the strikes) is that the old rules of staying in a position for 52 weeks from joining the company, or 6 months after an internal job move, would be put back into the contracts.

Should help with the constant movement of low grade signallers that currently happens.

Rof1 & Bn98 was there any mention of a reserve list? Or was it a generic "unfortunately on this occasion...?"
My email was a thanks your skilled/ experienced enough etc etc so we've put you on the reserve list for this cohort

Yeah just did, last email was the one for the interview
Maybe ask recruitment a question then?

Phew, got the phone call. Got the job!

Grade 6 instead of 9. But still at Three Bridges. So no idea what "area" that could be.

Hope those on the reserve list get something soon!

First post here! Hello everyone.
Does anyone know if signalling school has a break for Christmas/Easter if there are courses running over that time period?
I'm hopefully expecting a confirmation soon of the dates of the training
