London Underground (tube) discount

I am starting work as a trainee train driver in London with LNER soon, does anyone know if we're allowed any discount on the underground? I've got a feeling the RSTL 75% off doesn't cover it. I'm living in central London if that makes any difference, any advice would be much appreciated!

Not sure if you get a PTAC card (for underground train discounts). You can load your Priv discount onto an oyster card for use on national rail services within London (overground included) but limited stations can do so and tbh a quick trip to the ticket office or with the online RTSL ticketing it's not all that useful.

Priv card alone does not give you a discount on tfl undergroud.

If you get a PTAC card it does say tfl rail only on it... Confusing but that means the tube. It does not mean national rail or overground services (for which you need a rail staff leisure (priv) card), and there are no bus discounts except those organised reciprocally by your TOC.

You get a PTAC card. You take this along to one of the TFL travel centres and they apply the TFL discount to your oyster card. You also carry the PTAC card with you as it's proof of entitlement. (it's a photo card issued by tfl).

Interesting. Why do LNER get the underground discount. I know GTR do but I wasn't aware of any other TOC who got it.

I believe they do get reciprocal discounts between certain destinations. Shame it's not more to be fair.

They have a reciprocal arrangement with TfL. TfL staff get Priv rate season tickets on LNER services, though seeing as TfL have a 75% reimbursement policy for season tickets, it benefits LNER more.

I believe it's only the London depot that do. I have to say I thought GTR were the only TOC to receive it but obviously that was corrected above
