Fantastic. I wouldn’t bet highly that it will go through to Edinburgh since it’s likely to get swapped at Leeds.

The psynic in me would say this is so some XC management / control staff can get to ride the last public service home from work (it leaves Birmingham about half 5?) IF and its a massive IF that is the case, then frankly its beyond selfish. I would genuinely feel for enthusiasts booked on the 1627. However, my gut is this is an error and will not come to fruition. Hope not anyway for the sake of those who have put everything onto being on the 1627!

The flip side of that is that it’s in daylight for much more now.. I don’t think the timing matters too much, just be thankful it’s running at all.

It'll probably matter to those who have purchased advance tickets for 1E73

Its irrelevant to me, I've no need to be thankful. I just feel sorry for the folk who have booked seats on the 1627 . Hopefully they can reschedule easily enough. Having looked at RTT it departs Birmingham at 1703 so I'd say its a safe bet some selfish *$@* has decided their personal last bash is more important than the majority. If I was the booked driver for the 1627, I'd be gutted right now.

Plot twist: 1S53, 12.27 Plymouth to Edinburgh is now allocated as a HST - 43007 & 43008.
Twist again, that service is now showing as a 220+221…

It must’ve changed at midnight as I looked at the above working only 20 mins ago and it was showing the HST then.

In which case I withdraw my comments on XC management and control , seems I jumped to conclusions!

It does seem that the allocation fruit machine is very much still in motion.

Whilst I did have a 1st advance for the Devon section of the originally allocated 1E73, I think the best bet is now just to get a Devon day ranger to try to pounce if/whenever it appears.

Buying in advance in never a good idea in cases like this. Even if it means having to slum it in standard class

When the ticket is only about £10 to start with it’s less of a concern admittedly!
So what did xc do remove the service or change it to another service as I can't find any 125 gen even loco hauled trains changed last day running information

I don't understand this post, but if you are asking what's happening, I would wait and see at this stage.

It's still a long time before it's due to set off.

So tio summarise ...no HST's allocates today at all from Plymouth pending a last minute change.

Over 8 hours to go, isn't it?

It's not currently showing any allocation at the time of writing but it's surely far too early to conclude anything.
