What is the current situation of the bus stops at Leeds railway station? Are they still relocated due to the reconstruction works? Where do they stop now, in particular the Airport bus A1? How long will this go on for or is this a permanent change? Thank you for any information

It’s a permanent change, the whole frontage is going to be pedestrianised

All the buses now stop at the end of Boar Lane which has been made two way again

The A1 specially stops at the first stop you would come to at the end of Boar Lane - ‘Stop Station B’ as they call it

Seems something of a backwards step since millions were spent in 2004 to improve public transport connectivity.

Frankly not having to take your life into your own hands and try to cross the Monza F1 Circuit Inner Loop at City Square is a massive improvement on connectivity, even if a few west facing stops are a bit further away.

The link to the PDF map is most useful, and illustrates something I found difficult to understand when in Leeds recently, searching to check what stop the bus I wanted used.

There are simply too many duplicated stop letters in close proximity. The area names allocated to each group of stops is not necessarily easy to understand if you are not local, though could have been made easier to understand if each area had been coloured differently (and I don't recall the area name appearing on the bus stop itself, though I may be wrong on that score).

For example, there are two stop Cs roughly the same distance from the Queens Hotel exit from the station. Is "Station stop C" the one on Boar Lane or the one in Infirmary Street? I do know the answer, but the map could have been so much better.

I agree that the system of every stop being unique M1, T7, H1 etc was better, and had been used for decades.

I bet travel centre staff are embarrassed when they direct passengers to ‘Cultural C’ rather than ‘G1’ or whatever it used to be

Could that not have been improved without getting rid of the stops right outside the station?

Maybe, but then it still required buses to travel up the rather narrow New Station Street which in itself was not an ideal situation with rather narrow footpaths and a lot of people on them. And again it was just a handful of west facing, primarily Pudsey bound services along with the A1 that called there. Pretty much everything else required longer walks and potentially crossing the racecourse. Perhaps City Square itself might have been better configured to have stops there and not hidden down Infirmary Street, but honestly once the works are complete I think the station approach itself will be far more amenable than it once was.

It did make a lot more sense when the city link bus stopped there.
