Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-1 Tottenham Hotspur

A truly biblical stoppage time double by Pablo Sarabia and Mario Lemina gave us a phenomenal win at a bouncing Molineux.

I think I’ve just about calmed down 3 1/2 hours later… ;)

Spurs are back! :D

Leeds 2 Plymouth 1

It was a very comfortable game, which Leeds dominated but somehow managed to re-open as a competition in the dying minutes through complacency, although we should have been well clear by that point. Credit to Plymouth for selling out the away end. I wish Leeds would have a bit more of a killer instinct, rather than easing off when we look like we've won the game.

Another win yesterday against QPR, a fantastic 13 out of 14 wins in the League. 39 points now and no less than 14 points above 3rd place Leeds who we play next Friday. Its too easy in this league.
No longer seems to be working out like that but fans on one of the city forums ripping the team to bits after getting beat at Middlesbrough this afternoon certainly does seem rather strange. Still top of the league!

Yes by Goal Difference! Leicester often are like this and have a great start to the season and then lose ground. We'll see how we are after the International break then...

Bradford 2 Matlock Town 3

2-0 up at half time with Matlock down to 10 men and we still found a way to lose. Unbelievable.

Are Chelsea finally coming back to life? 4-4 draw with Man City and what a hell of a game that was.

I didn’t realise Bower had gone. Was he sacked or did he resign?
Mark Bower and his assistant Danny Boshell both got bounced by Bradford PA after last weekend's 0-2 defeat at fellow strugglers Basford United. Think that Luca Havern is now their interim head coach.

Ah right. I remember Havern playing for Alty in the conference, he was pretty good at that level

Some changes to the England squad with Cole Palmer, Rico Lewis and Ezri Konsa called up.

Jude Bellingham is reporting but expected to return to Madrid.

Well done to the 2 young lads on their call up but I have to say that I am surprised JWP and Raheem Sterling didn't get a call.

Wonder what has gone off there, especially with Sterling, he was one of Southgate's 1st picks for a long time ?

Possibly as simple as two games against lesser opposition and a chance to look at younger players as there's still a core of experienced players in the squad?

I think you're probably right.

What I have seen of Cole Palmer at MC with the U21 and now Chelsea he looks a player.

He does indeed, and they stick out like a sore thumb at that level, even at the top teams. I took one of my kids to the semi final first leg of the FA Youth Cup back in 2017, and Phil Foden played and just ran the game. Head and shoulders above the rest of them, and that was a City team including Jadon Sancho, Lucas Nmecha and Brahim Diaz

I'm definitely excited by the young players, and agree about Ward-Prowse. Hopefully this is the start of Southgate being a little more adventurous with his selections.

Also interesting to see the news about Sterling hijacked by Simon Clarke MP to complain about today's Cabinet reshuffle!

Rotherham sack manager Matt Taylor. He becomes the seventh Championship manager to leave their club this season!

Not so good tonight. o_O
Swear words are yet to be invented to describe how bad we were. I have been going since 1984/5. Never heard anything like it. We have been crap for many, perhaps most, of those years. This was the worst. ever.

8 points adrift. minus 26 goal difference.

EDIT - we got beaten 8-0 by Watford in the league cup in 1987 but Watford were division 1 and we were division 4 so not as embarrassing as this.

Chorley 8 (EIGHT) v Darlo 0. Worse defeat I have ever seen.
Round about this time of the year, in the non-league world, the first round matches of local Senior Cup matches are played and these usually bring up some rather one-sided victories. Tonights matches of note are:-

Cheshire Senior Cup...1st round
Nantwich 10 ... Runcorn Town 1

Sheffield & Hallam Senior Cup...1st round
Elite AFC 0 ... Sheffield 10

England play Malta Friday night. I think we might just do OK there :D Love Malta as a holiday destination and can see why people especially retire there or have timeshares out on the island. It is a bit like going back to the 1970s in places.
