If the intention is to run them to Blackpool/Preston, why is the MU profile only considering as far as Weaver? Seems like a lack of joined up thinking if that was the intent?
It’s bonkers as Wigan to Preston for example should definitely me 125 MU speed it’s straight all the way

The Blackpool under discussion is the Trent Valley one, not the ones that should be Glasgows but are presently being sent to Blackpool to turn around without clogging platforms at Preston.

The Brum semifast doesn't extend north of Birmingham.
From the June TTC, there are Brum semifasts that still extend to Blackpool, pathed as 80x.
What Trent Valley ones? The only two Euston-Blackpools that that I can see in the curent timetable (on RTT today, anyway) are the 1009 and 1409 off Crewe, both of which should have gone to Glasgow. Not having thse trains in the timetable drastically breaks journeys from all sorts of places to Scotland: My trip to Rothesay is made longer (with an extra change) because of it.

Until they can run them, what point is there providing yet more fast services for London? It's as though the needs of the rest of the country don't count for anything at all.
If these trains start running before we get our inter-regional services back I shall make a formal complaint and encourage others to do so too.
1R14 05:35 Blackpool-Euston and 1P94 17:05 Euston-Blackpool run via the Trent Valley.

Apols if it’s been answered before, but will the 80x stock have standard premium coaches / areas, or will it be standard and first only? Cheers.

They almost certainly won't actually be 80x. They are just pathed 80x because of the slow bit south of Brum.
Most of the semi-fasts are still pathed as 390s, indeed there are still some Blackpools that run as semi-fasts pathed as 390s from June, the plan has changed such that Preston drivers will now sign them since they're to be used on the Blackpool services.

not today it doesn't.
In the WTT, there's an amended service this week.

I believe both with be First and Standard only, the 805s will have 1 FC carriage and 4 standard and the 807s I believe will have 1½ FC carriages and 5 ½ standard (someone correct me if I'm wrong).

That's my understanding as well.

All I can say is thank god that avanti already feature full info on rtt, I'll be avoiding 80x booked services where ever possible or indeed switching my custom away to wmr assuming the long distance version of the 730 is decent or indeed using Chiltern if they finally do the decent thing and scrap the clubman fleet in favor of something better
Why? When the interior etc will be same seating etc to a Pendo, and windows larger etc?

Got gen from a Wolverhampton driver yesterday who informed me about this for today. A 'training train' started to operate from this week. This morning Oxley - Euston. Euston - Crewe and Crewe - Oxley with 805009.

Some days also have a PM diagram which operates basically the same as above but in reverse.

There was an 805 at Euston this morning, left around 0800 going to Lancaster AIUI.

It just doesn't make any sense. The 9 carriage Pendolino I had yesterday had a single, RAMMED Coach K for First Class, and 7 carriage 807s will have 1 and a half - longer carriages on those too? I wonder why the second isn't to be used as standard premium on certain services?

I believe they should implement Standard Premium into the composite carriage.

Just a thought, but is it possible the 80x will have only Standard Premium and no First? (Rather than First but no Std Prem)

Really? So many people (and I'm talking "normals" here not railway folk) get nausea or vomiting on Pendolinos. It seems especially so in children. The 80x will be a god send for many, and I suspect journeys to the likes of Liverpool and Preston will be planned around getting on an 80x rather than a 390 for all those who suffer from the tilting sickness!

While this experience definitely isn't universal, I will probably try and be on the 80x services from Liverpool once they start, and avoid the pendolinos.

Do you have something to back that claim up? The tilting is deliberately designed to do so in a way that counteracts motion sickness.

Do we know if the 805s/807s would eventually (if ever) go to Manchester Piccadilly? Or would they only go via that way for diversionary purposes only, much like Avanti Super Voyagers are now?

Why would they, when there are 56 Pendolinos? :)

I do , anecdotally of course. I can comment on myself , my wife, my children, my extended family's children and the experiences that have all been had. So it's not a statistic, but a rather damning picture has been painted. The only linking factor is tilting trains, as in almost all cases the nausea / vomiting is only when on a 390.

I agree - Pendo's the only train I ever get motion sickness on, especially Rugby-London and north of Preston, to the extent I now take travel tablets beforehand.

Goodness, that can't be pleasant.
I have to say I rather love the tilting sensation myself :D

I'm just wondering if they would ever venture forth this way (be it a direct service or diversionary service) :)

Understand that chances are very slim with Manchester not being on the mainline and as you say, plenty of Pendolinos to operate.

As I mentioned, Super Voyagers have come via Manchester in the past (and during the COVID timetable, there was one or two services a day that did run with Super Voyagers!)
