Unless you count Cardiff as GWR land...!
Or Hereford!Unless you count Cardiff as GWR land...!
Why is it timed at a maximum speed of 49 mph?
It's a VST path which RTT has an issue putting maximum speeds on.Why is it timed at a maximum speed of 49 mph?
What do you mean by ‘if indeed we ever do’?No, fun-size HST.
There’s lots and lots of steps before we see any 175s out and about; if indeed we ever do.
Yes, the contract was awarded on 29/8/24 for 16 x 3-car and 11 x 2 - car (70 vehicles). What do you mean by ‘if indeed we ever do’?
Hasn’t the contract being signed for the 175s to transfer to GWR?
Been cancelled for the record. No, fun-size HST.

I mean contracts were signed for the 769s as well, which didn't really pan out. Hopefully the 175s will all enter service just fine. What do you mean by ‘if indeed we ever do’?

I think they will as well. Exeter kept the 143s going and Laira the castle sets. Spare parts is always the problem.GWR seem to have some pretty good people, they got the 180s relatively sorted.
I'm sure the 175s will be well looked after
And/or Widnes. So Alstom at Longsight are preparing the rest?
If the same as what was booked the other day, it is only a mini hst set.Something has left Laira today at 12.58hrs to Newton Abbot and back. 5Z77.

Would that be hst+hst? Or a hst+ carriage + hst. Pretty sure that'll be a bit nippy. If the same as what was booked the other day, it is only a mini hst set.
An HST is the whole set. Presumably you mean back-to-back power cars when you say “hst+hst”?Would that be hst+hst? Or a hst+ carriage + hst. Pretty sure that'll be a bit nippy.

One was at Cardiff canton the other was at Chester unsure if they've moved though.I think I read previously that there is a simulator, if correct would that be at Laira or elsewhere?
Out of interest how many drivers will need to be trained on the 175's and approximately how many hours does that take for each?
Thanks
As @Anonymous10 said, there were two, at Chester and Cardiff. They're pretty old tech at this point, and in any case were used more for teaching rules and procedures to trainee drivers rather than as practical handling skills specific to 175s.I think I read previously that there is a simulator, if correct would that be at Laira or elsewhere?
Obviously GWR will likely want to devise their own course, but at TfW it was an 8 day course to learn 175s. Only a small part of that was handling; a lot of the mechanical and electric stuff is very different to BR era stock, so there's a lot to learn just on the static training.Out of interest how many drivers will need to be trained on the 175's and approximately how many hours does that take for each?

Do we know which 175 is going this time?
Not quite, 114 has been swapped for 108.Change the dates but there's your answer.
They're still at Cardiff and Chester, but it is hoped to move them to Plymouth and Long Rock. One was at Cardiff canton the other was at Chester unsure if they've moved though.
