    GTR 16th Jan 2023

Do TOCs like GTR ever arrange accommodation nearer to where they host training ? For trainees facing long commutes otherwise. Also is the classroom based part typically Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm ?

GTR - Trainee Train Driver vacancies (07/12/20)

Wow, 18 months, I’ve been in the Brighton pool for 6 months, looks like there’s still some way to go. I was told GTR plan to take on 100 new drivers in 2022, so hopefully it’ll get moving. There do seem to be courses running regularly now and new people entering pools often, which has to be a...

I wouldn’t worry, I’m pretty sure that’s normal, mine says the same.

    GTR- assessment/Interview

Looking at that screen shot it looks like it’s only Southern that’s enhanced and the rest of GTR isn’t ? Is that possible ? Perhaps because Southern trains are driver only operation.

Being in a talent pool waiting time?

I’d personally send regular emails to HR, just to let them know you’re still there, ready and waiting, keen to start your career with them. Your assessment results are valid for 5 years, so you need to chase them or you’ll have to resit them.

Is that a known thing ? That higher scores on testing, place you as higher priority in talent pools ? I’d hoped you’d be selected in order of length of time waiting in the pool. how are you finding the training ? Is it with GTR ?

GTR - Trainee Train Driver vacancies (07/12/20)

I’ve been waiting for a Southern course since my MMI in Sept. I applied for Brighton in Feb 2019. The whole process has been brutally slow. The saying “So close, yet so far” has never held so much meaning

Southeastern Trainee Driver - All Depots - (20/09/21)

I applied for Hastings as well got told I’d passed initial sift but not heard anything since. I already have a valid assessment centre pass. I work with 2 others who applied for Hastings as well. 1637332046 You should only have to retry the parts you failed and the results are valid for 5 years

GTR - Trainee Train Driver vacancies (07/12/20)

Congratulations, what depot did you apply for ? 1637178499 I’d be surprised if candidate are ranked by their assessment score, a pass is a pass, and if you make the talent pool then surely you meet their standard that should be enough. Then It should be first come first serve ? Maybe internal...

Southeastern Trainee Driver - All Depots - (20/09/21)

Someone on a different thread was invited to assessment centre along with 4 others, who all applied for Hastings apparently ? All within a month of the application closing date

    Thameslink drivers

I asked this on interview and was told roughly 98% trainee drivers pass training successfully.
