Longest distance rail replacement bus services.

I was once offered one from Doncaster to Pokesdown... I declined and got a hotel, which fortunately TPE paid back doubtlessly saving a lot of money in comparison

Longest distance rail replacement bus services.

From what I heard, on one occasion the driver appeared not to know the destination until the coach arrived at the station...

Haven't Caledonian Sleeper organised last minute replacements to/from London a few times? That's got to be the longest

SNCF Cancelled Sleeper Refusing Overnight Accommodation as Notice Given

Update: Well I turned up at the station, and the SNCF staff there honestly couldn't have been more helpful under the circumstances. Initially, they suggested to straight away get on the sleeper to Tarbes (which should have left 20 minutes earlier) and then connect via Toulouse to Latour. The...

SNCF Cancelled Sleeper Refusing Overnight Accommodation as Notice Given

    a) Is impossible I need to be in Wales tomorrow, and can't stay after Friday b) Is what I may have to do, but it doesn't seem like I should have to be significantly out of pocket to re-route myself because of a cancelled train

SNCF Cancelled Sleeper Refusing Overnight Accommodation as Notice Given

Wondering if anyone here has experience dealing with SNCF or knows how to push this further. I have a reservation for Intercite De Nuit 3971 from Paris to Latour De Carol, now SNCF have cancelled my train with just over 48 hours’ notice. Because of that they’re saying they have no obligation to...

As in UK this only affects online sales and can be bypassed using a TVM (presumably a ticket office too), passholders/Interrail can just board of course

Cross Country Voyagers - rear set locked out of use?

If you limited advance fares to the trains which are actually quiet (evening and early morning) it could probably persuade quite a few to switch.

Cross Country Voyagers - rear set locked out of use?

I think this is just an example of the wrong way

Cross Country (XC) First Class service

I'm pretty sure CrossCountry are giving out the exact same sandwiches, only the Pizza Twists are exclusive to First. To be fair I think every TOC does this, I guess they need to differentiate then somehow and probably so that it feels more generous to give out two small Cokes than one standard...

Cross Country (XC) First Class service

If there's staff around you can ask and should get drinks and a couple snacks. I wouldn't see it as guaranteed on such a sort hop, but you'll probably have a better chance on the return leg if you're quick.

    Buying an All Line Rover

Yep, that's the easiest way to do it. At a Avanti ticket office I think they can do it on a credit card sized ticket if you ask too
