The first task was two groups with a flip chart each. Each group had a different question written on it in which they had to write their answers and then present after ten minutes.
Second was a full group task. We had an hour to decide between us if we should market a new type of sun cream...
Well I had my 2nd Assessment yesterday and sadly was unsuccessful. Actually I'm unsure if any of the group were successful as I was the 4th elimination out of the 5 of us. They gave great feedback though so I'll definitely be trying again.
I never want to hear the words "Bronzo" or...
Is anyone else struggling with preparing for the interview? I've never had a competency based interview and, although I've got a decade's worth of continuous customer service experience, it's pretty difficult prepping answers for dozens of potential questions with individual stories.
My guess is more applicants are required. Seems odd they have advertised again before deciding how many they want from the first lot.
Oh well, fingers crossed anyway!
Just received my email asking to book my final assessment. 26/27 January.
Interestingly, it advised its an individual excerise followed by the group excercise. Then the interview.
So I'm thinking the individual excercise is probably a role play...
Curious how many will be in the final assessment stage. I'm stressing over the interview a bit but hopefully it won't be as painful as I'm expecting it to be!
I also have my assessment on the 30th. My account page on the First Group Careers site advises - "Please wait in the ticket office hall and you will be collected by Pat Gillman."
Good luck!
I did wonder about the next stage, as I've read on here that some people had a telephone interview before the assessments whereas I've gone 'Application - Online Assessments - Assessment Centre'.
Still getting about 5-10 missed on the SCAAT across all three tests which I believe is a little too...
I'm pretty sure I didn't see a thread about a recent vacancy for GWR Conductors at Exeter. Did it pass under the radar?
Anyway, has anyone on here got through to the assessment stage? I've got mine booked at Newton Abbot at the end of the month. Already have my practice papers and I'm studying...

The trip is Saturday 18th March.

Thanks, (and sorry for the late reply!). I don't remember seeing many but then again until recently there wasn't a lot for us to add to the conversation as obviously this was a fairly bottom of the pile conversation before the Dawlish incident.
Thank you, as new member I wanted to try and get started on the right foot.
A few of us are using social media to keep the interest alive. A facebook group is sharing any information of note and our local paper the Okehampton Times has a had a few comments from both Okehampton's MP and our...
I don't know if anyone from the Okehampton/Tavistock area has been overly active in this thread but as an Okehampton resident I really hope there is still some hope for us an option as it seems there are a few people who prefer the other suggested routes.
Okehampton may not be huge with a...
